Acapella Respiratory Therapy Systems

Positive Expiratory Pressure
(PEP) Therapy

Helping patients make breathing easier. . . easier

The Acapella Vibratory PEP Devices are a single patient, multiple use devices that provides Positive Expiratory Pressure (PEP) Therapy for patients who have Cystic Fibrosis, COPD, asthma, and lung diseases with secretory problems, and patients with atelectasis. All patients must be capable of following instructions for Positive Expiratory Pressure Therapy or be under adult supervision. Acapella combines the benefits of both PEP therapy and airway vibrations to mobilize pulmonary secretions.

  • Improved clearance and mobilization of secretions
  • Requires 15-20 minutes of therapy time versus 20-40 minutes for traditional chest physiotherapy.²
  • Helps prevent or reverse atelectasis1
  • Optimizes delivery of bronchodilators
  • Can be used simultaneously with nebulized aerosol drug delivery

The Acapella Family of Products

There are three unique products in the acapella family that allow you to choose the right product for your patients' needs. You can adjust the acapella frequency and flow resistance simply by turning the expiratory resistance dial. The device has an inspiratory valve of 22 mm OD ambient end and 22 mm OD patient end. The acapella also has a patented rocker mechanism.

Use of Acapella Choice Blue Vibratory PEP Therapy System brings you additional benefits, including:

  • Treatment can be performed in less than half the time of a conventional CPT session.²
  • Proximal medication nebulizer placement on the acapella delivers equivalent aerosol to the lung compared to use of nebulizer alone.³
  • Disassembly for easy cleaning and disinfection
  • Enhance patient interface

Use of Acapella vibratory DH & DM PEP Therapy System has many benefits, including:

  • Allows inhalation and exhalation without removing from mouth.
  • Prolongs expiratory airflow to increase removal of secretions.
  • Allows use with mask or mouthpiece attachment.
  • Allows use with inline nebulizer when fitted with tee adapter.
  • For adults and children 5 years and above.
