Overview

In response to the problems and risks associated with sepsis and septic shock, ICU Medical has developed the TriOx ScvO2 Catheter and Probe. The TriOx exclusive three wavelength oximetry technology with digital filtration provides greater accuracy than two wavelength systems. The TriOx Probe converts most Central Venous Catheters (CVCs) into ScvO2 monitoring catheters, allowing the clinician to scale monitoring capability to meet therapeutic goals without replacing an existing CVC.

Additional benefits of using TriOx:

Flexibility

  • TriOx Probe allows you to convert your existing indwelling CVC* into an ScvO2 monitoring catheter by inserting the probe down the distal lumen of the CVC.

  • Available with no natural rubber latex components in a variety of sizes and lengths.

Accuracy

  • Filters artifact caused by cell orientation, vessel wall reflections and changes in pH.

  • Exclusive light intensity signal helps to identify proper placement of fiber-optic tip to ensure accurate readings.

  • Allows clinician to optimize oxygen supply and demand in cases of severe sepsis or septic shock.

Cost-Efficient

  • Reducing diagnostic costs by eliminating the need for clinical updates of hemoglobin.

*Compatible CVCs have a minimum distal lumen inner diameter of 0.032" (0.81 mm) and a maximum length from the outside of the female luer on the distal lumen to the tip of 30 cm for a 14 cm catheter and 35 cm for a 20 cm catheter.
